GETTING TO KNOW ME

Hazelnut is perfection, seriously perfection. A purebred Longhair Selkirk Rex with that fabulous “messy hair don’t care” look, Hazelnut is friendly, affectionate, easy going and stunning. Those green eyes are mesmerizing. The twinkle will always keep you wondering what she is thinking. And, most importantly Hazelnut is an FIP champion. She took that dastardly disease to the knockout round and sent it flying. Now she is absolutely ready to go!

Maybe that is why she is always purring, set to plunk down on your lap and plays with a grateful gusto, because “hey, LIFE IS SO GOOD!” There is not much she does not love. Her extensive list of loves includes petting, combing-yes, even her belly, eating and playing in her water. Toys are cool. A tall cat tree is fun, windows are da’ bomb!

Hazelnut likely will adapt easily into a new home. She is good with other cats, probably would be fine with a respectful dog and kids ten and up would be fine as well. She will invite you to scritch that belly, but it is important to recognize when she gets overstimulated and give it a rest. Combing regularly is important. She has a humongous coat that really poofs out during the winter months. Expect some shedding. Typically, her coat does not mat if you do regular combing (not brushing). We recommend a Chris Christensen grooming comb. It is an affordable and worthy investment.

All you must do is snuggle her squishy cobby body to realize how much she enjoys eating. She is a generous ten pounds so schedule feeding will keep her in check. Currently she enjoys Fussie Cat wet food and some ProPlan and Nutro kibble. Perfect with the large, open litter boxes, they are scooped daily and filled with unscented, clumping litter.

What’s not to like? That is the one question we cannot answer.
