GETTING TO KNOW ME
Fun fact about Willa. She is WILD about freeze-dried rabbit nibs (from Vital Essentials) and loves to push and chase them across the floor before eating them. This is a great ice-breaking game for her new home to play with her.
As with all her siblings, Willa is not a dominant kitten and is very respectful to the resident cats. Willa does prefer to keep with her siblings versus mingling with the resident cats. She will hiss at a resident cat out of fear and tries to avoid them. She has been raised with a small cat-friendly dog. She plays with people (loves the wand toy) and with the other kittens from her litter. Once comfortable (and expect this to take a bit of time), she will be an entertaining and joyful part of the family.
Willa loves a good game of rough and tumble play, thunderously chasing with her siblings up and down stairs and down halls, but she also loves to play on her own pushing springs and plastic rings across the floor. Kittens do best in pairs so her new home must have an age and energy appropriate feline companion. This would be another non-dominant, sweet kitty or two like herself. Or her new family might consider adopting one of her siblings. It is our recommendation that Willa be adopted with one of her siblings for best fit. They all get along fantastic and really enjoy one another’s company. A cat savvy kid 12+ would be okay. A dog that would respect and ignore her would likely be fine with slow introductions. Being on the docile and timid side, Willa would not thrive in a loud and busy household or with a child that would chase her.
Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Willa and other pets in the home. Please do your research on proper introductions. It can often take up to 3 months for a cat to feel fully comfortable and integrate into a new family. Patience and understanding is of utmost importance.
