Charming Chet is one handsome and sweetheart of a boy with enchanting, icy blue eyes. At only 6 months old and 7.5 lbs, he’s a big boy and the biggest of his siblings but amusingly, has the tiniest, high-pitched meows. Chet is a big teddy bear that is gentle, full of purrs and generally on the timid side. He has a loving temperament and likes to be held and cradled. At times, he will meow at your feet to be picked up and held. If you work from home, you can expect some interruptions and lap time. You can also expect a good amount of maintenance with this guy. He has a luxurious cottony coat, which will only get thicker with age and sports a beautiful ruff around his neck—all needing daily combing in order to avoid matting. Luckily, Chet enjoys being combed with a long-tooth, stainless-steel comb as he twirls and leans into the comb. His eyes have some dark drainage that need daily wiping. Chet is very good about eye wiping and having his nails trimmed. Once in a while, his right eye may get a little itchy and inflamed but a drop of Alaway eye drops does the trick. 

Chet and his siblings get a variety of canned wet food (rabbit/chicken/turkey) for breakfast and dinner, along with free choice dry kitten food. Chet and his siblings are all masters at using the litter box using large, open boxes filled with low-dust and frangrance-free, clumping litter.

As with all his siblings, Chet is not a dominant kitten and is very respectful to the resident cats. He has been raised with a small cat-friendly dog. He plays with people and with the other kittens from his litter. Once comfortable (and expect this to take a bit of time), he is going to require he be an integral part of the family.

Chet loves a good game of rough and tumble play, thunderously chasing with his siblings up and down stairs and down halls, but he also loves to play on his own pushing springs and plastic rings across the floor. Kittens do best in pairs so his new home must have an age and energy appropriate feline companion. This would be another non-dominant, sweet kitty or two like himself. Or his new family might consider adopting one of his siblings. They all get along fantastic and really enjoy one another’s company. A cat savvy kid 12+ would be okay. A dog that would respect and ignore him would likely be fine with slow introductions. Being on the docile and timid side, Chet would not thrive in a loud and busy household or with a child that would chase him.
