GETTING TO KNOW ME

Isn’t she just darling with her big splotches of black and white fur and those big gold eyes and that little pink tongue poking out!

Shiloh will be a bit cautious, taking it all in before getting comfortable in her new home but once comfortable she’s quite interactive and enjoys being part of a family. She enjoys a good round cardboard scratcher with a ball that whirls around and a wand toy is oh so much fun!

Shiloh would like a home without a dog. Older, quiet, respectful children that are cat savvy and that know how to read a cat would likely be fine. If you push her too fast or you’re not savvy, she’ll get swatty. Shiloh has made a stealthy breakout of the foster room at her foster home and had no reaction to the resident cats. With slow introductions, it’s possible that she would be fine with a cat or two that wouldn’t push or get in her face. She’d also do great as the only pet in the home. She has joined her foster mom on her work desk for a meeting or two in the event you’re looking for a work from home assistant.

Being Persian, she’ll need regular grooming and the usual eye cleaning. She had stenotic nares surgery to maximize her breathing. You must be well versed in Persian cat upkeep to maintain her coat. Trimming nails isn’t a problem once she trusts you and you take your time and are patient. Her ears can get a little gunky so cleaning every week is advised and she doesn’t mind it if you make it a positive experience.

She’s great with her litter box and currently uses an open top litter box with unscented scoopable litter. Shiloh will overeat and it’s advised that she is schedule fed two times a day and not free fed so that she does not get overweight.

Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe to Shiloh and other pets in the home.
