Royal is a dignified and stunning Selkirk rex deserving of adoration. She has a stunning, thick coat with muted colors of blues, peach and white. Soft curls intermix with waves throughout her body ending in a rush of glory with her plume of a tail. Her hazel eyes are penetrating and will look right into your eyes to connect. She has lots of curls and kinks around her face that show off her “messy hair, don’t care,” look.

From the top of a cat tree, expect she will reach down into your hair especially if YOU have curls to bond and play. From there she will saunter down your shoulder and into your lap for a snooze. Or she just might attempt to perch on your head!

Confidence oozes from this girl. Do not expect she will run to meet you. That might be beneath her royal personality. She’d rather let the minions around her get the first attention and then come over and steal it all for herself. Despite her slight air of superiority, she gets along well with her other kitty companions.

The Selkirk is a rarer breed in rescue and is fun to learn about. Her coat is nearly maintenance free and should never be brushed but rather gently combed in the event of an occasional knot.

Royal has lived with many cats and seems to get along with all of them. We think she would be fine with a respectful dog. Children beyond the screeching age, who are used to treating all with gentle hands may be just fine.

Royal is schedule fed twice per day getting a can of Fussie Cat with each meal and a mix of Nutro and ProPlan kibble for snacking. She has her choice of multiple litterboxes with unscented clumping litter that are scooped several times per day.
