GETTING TO KNOW ME

Midge carries herself like a one-of-a-kind piece of art. She is a sight to behold with her dramatic swatches of bold black and white colors, which are offset by her piercing copper eyes. She looks like a Picaso painting!

Midge would like to engage in some wand toy time with you and then hang out while you read or watch a movie. A feline companion would be nice but not a must if the family is home more than away and is attentive to Midge. A cat respectful child 10+ years would be okay. A dog that would respect and ignore her would likely be fine with slow introductions. Midge is easy-peasy and not overly demanding. Nothing is better than cat trees near windows to watch wildlife or a nice comfy couch or a bed with her person. She’s a champ at using vertical and horizontal scratching posts. Midge has a couple Persian roomies if you’d like to adopt a companion pair who already get along.

Midge is perfect with her litterbox, using a large, open-style box to accommodate her fluff with unscented clumping PetSmart Grass litter. She has grown wonderfully in the past months eating Honest Kitchen rehydrated food for breakfast and dinner. Fresh, clean water is always available from stainless steel and ceramic cat fountains. Proper litter box husbandry means one litter box per cat, plus an extra.

Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Midge and other pets in the home. Please do your research on proper introductions. It can often take up to 3 months for a cat to feel fully comfortable and integrate into a new family. Patience and understanding are of utmost importance.

Persians don’t shed like domestic cats. Persian hair needs to be combed out because they cannot maintain their lovely long hair on their own. To prevent hairballs, and protect against matting, we recommend combing at minimum two or three times a week. These grooming sessions need not take longer than five or ten minutes and will keep the luscious coat looking its best. Nail trimming once a month is easy and a non-issue (No declawing, not ever!) A daily eye wipe with Eye Envy (purchased from Amazon) will keep the fur around his eyes clean and healthy.

VETTING PROVIDED

To ensure ultimate health, Midge is spayed, 3-year rabies and FVRCP vaccines, is FELV/FIV negative, has been dewormed. She has had corrective Stenotic nares surgery to allow her to breathe comfortably. She also just had a dental, was treated for parasites and is microchipped.
