GETTING TO KNOW ME

Jon Snow and Samwell are a hunkie yet elegant, bonded pair of Purebred Ragdoll brothers both with the most stunning blue eyes. They are as heroic and brave as their namesakes. When the boys joined us, they were very insecure and shutdown, they hid and avoided any interaction. We let them dictate the pace with consensual interactions and thankfully they are food motivated and love wand toys, so it was just a matter of earning their trust and giving them time. They were so worth the wait! Now that they are comfortable, they run to meet us as they meow, chirp and trill with excitement.

Jon Snow and Samwell must be adopted as a pair. The boys play, mutual groom, eat and sleep together. They are looking for a relaxed, quiet home with one or more adults that are retired, working from home or home more than away. And please, no kids or dogs. Patience and cat experience is a must with only positive reinforcement interactions. Wand toys and pingpong balls, Churus and crunchy greenie cat treats are great tools to extend the olive branch. They can get overstimulated if pushed fast but they give clear signals so people can slow down. Once comfortable the boys will let you start petting them as they eat. They can often be found window watching birds from their cat tree as they snooze the day away.

They will need a single room to start out in, often referred to as “basecamp” with slow introductions and expansion of space at their pace. Coat care is easy with a greyhound comb as needed, with heavier grooming two-times a year during the coat changes in Fall and Spring.

They currently enjoy breakfast and dinner of Honest Kitchen brand dehydrated food and a number of canned foods, and a stainless water fountain. They should not be free fed as the boy’s love food a little bit too much and will eat more than what is healthy. When working with a shy cat it is best to schedule feed meals so that they know all yummy things come from their new person and it’s a bonding experience. They are fantastic with their litter box habits and a new home should have 3 litter boxes (one on each floor if there’s more than one level so they don’t need to run far), spacious in size with no top to accommodate their fluff with scoopable, unscented litter.
