GETTING TO KNOW ME

Doc is an outgoing and extra friendly Egyptian Mau looking for his forever family!  Doc does not know a stranger and will immediately try to sit in your lap.  He adapts quickly and easily into new environments. He loves his kitty friends, but could adapt to being an only cat. Doc would love to even be adopted with one of her current Mau friends! He is often seen cuddling and licking the other cats.  Doc is also very much a people-oriented cat and enjoys being carried around or riding on your shoulder.

Doc loves playing with toys and exploring all over his foster home. He loves to watch out the window and see everything going on around him. Doc is curious and outgoing and would fit into many types of households. He will meow for you if you’re on the opposite side of a closed door from him as he really just wants to be with you!

Doc currently eats Blue Buffalo Turkey & Potato dry food. He loves treats and will run across the house if he hears the bag! He is great using a large open litter boxes with unscented clumping litter.

Doc has a heart murmur caused by a small hole in his ventricular septum (the wall that separates the lower chambers of the heart.)  His cardiologist said he has had this since he was a baby. It does not require medication and he is at low risk for heart failure. Doc has never had any episodes of exercise intolerance, collapse, respiratory effort, or coughing. We see cats with this live full, long lives and he has had no issues with anesthesia. Doc does get extremely nervous and jumpy for restraint and requires gabapentin prior to seeing the vet.
