🐾GETTING TO KNOW ME
Ossa has a luxurious coat with lovely silver and white and set-off by intense gold-green eyes. She has a silkier coat that will require moderate care. It’s not cottony nor prone to significant matting. At only 7 months old she will not mature completely until she is approximately 4 years old. Ossa is a cautious and curious girl who can be a bit of a wall flower to start. Once comfortable (and please be patient), Ossa will slowly but surely warm up and seek out human affection. She enjoys being talked to with Churu’s and treats being a great way to connect.

🐾IDEAL HOME
Ossa needs a home that is stable, calm, quiet, patient, and experienced and will let Ossa move at her own pace. Ossa is not a demanding kind of kitty, but the more time you invest into her, the more you will receive in return. Being carried around isn’t her favorite thing, just yet, and at this point prefers to rest next to people. Ossa would thrive with an attentive family who’s home regularly. As a kitten she must have a young, sweet, feline friend as a companion. Her wish list includes cat trees near windows for bird-watching and cozy spots to lounge with her favorite humans. She is obsessed with human attention once comfortable.

A quieter home without “too much” of anything would be ideal. She will not thrive in chaos. But with any new animal, starting off in a safe space with plenty of time to acclimate is critical. Starting out, she prefers to observe you from a safe distance, but she is easily swayed with some encouraging talk, quiet time together and once you get petting, she’ll keep rubbing up against you for more. She really loves her breakfast and dinner, which consists of Honest Kitchen rehydrated chicken, Churu and currently loves the fresh and clean water from her ceramic water fountain.

Ossa is perfect with her litter box. (REMEMBER—Maine Coons need extra-large litter boxes. No covers.)  She is a big eater and between breakfast and dinner eats about 20oz of wet food. Maine Coon kittens eat A-LOT! We recommend schedule feeding since staying at a healthy weight will help minimize stress on joints.  Eating is one of her favorite things to do.

🐾CARE REQUIREMENTS
*Feeding: Honest Kitchen Rehydrated Food,  twice daily.
*Litter: Large, open-style box with unscented clumping litter (one box per cat, plus one extra) currently using Worlds Best & Grass Seed Litters.
*Grooming: Combing once a week with a monthly nail trim.

🐾TRANSITION TIPS
Ossa needs a patient family who understands that settling in takes time—often up to 3 months. Ossa will absolutely need to start out in a “base camp” room in her new home, while she becomes familiar and comfortable with her new people and another potential cat, and she will let you know when she’s ready to explore more of the home. Please research brining home a new cat & proper cat introductions. YouTube has many great Jackson Galaxy videos to help with introductions.

🐾IMPORTANT: FIP CURED 🎗️
This incredible girl has completed FIP protocol and is CURED! Please educate yourself at https://www.fipglobalcats.com/ and ensure your vet is FIP-knowledgeable. We’re happy to answer questions!

WHY MAINE COONS ARE MAGICAL
The “Gentle Giants” of the cat world, Maine Coons are:
• Slow-maturing (full growth at 4-5 years)
• Incredibly social, loyal, and dog-like in personality
• Chatty communicators (chirps, trills, purrs, occasional meows)
• Water-obsessed weirdos (may join you in the shower!)
• Brush 2-3 times weekly (5-10 minute sessions)
• Occasional baths enhance their natural glamour
• Daily teeth brushing required (gingivitis-prone breed)
• They’re “mouthy”—love to gently hold fingers/hands
• Can be predisposed to ear, nose and throat polyps
