GETTING TO KNOW ME

Esme is like a little garden fairy fluttering around and joyfully tapping blades of grass. It is a complete priviledge to be around her joyful, affectionate and curious personality!

Esme would like to engage in some wand toy time with you and then hang-out while you read or watch a movie. A feline companion would be nice but not a must if the family is home more than away and is attentive to Esme. A cat respectful child 8+ years and/or a dog that would respect and ignore her would likely be fine with slow introductions. Esme is an easy girl whose greatest desire is attention from people. She enjoys cat trees placed near windows to watch wildlife or a nice comfy couch or a bed with her person. She’s a champ at using vertical and horizontal scratching posts and is super cooperative at nail trimming time. Esme will demand not only lap time but to share your pillow when it’s bedtime. Personal space is not her thing and she thinks nothing of standing on your lap whilst rubbing her smushy face all over yours.

Esme is perfect with her litter box using a large, open-style box (to accommodate her fluff) using unscented, clumping, PetSmart brand Grass Seed litter. She has grown wonderfully in the past months eating Honest Kitchen rehydrated food for breakfast and dinner. Fresh, clean water is always available from stainless steel and ceramic cat fountains. Proper litter box husbandry means one litter box per cat, plus an extra. If you have multi levels to your home, be sure to have a litter box on each level to avoid Esme having to run up or down levels to her bathroom.

Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Esme and other pets in the home. Please do your research on proper introductions. It can often take up to 3 months for a cat to feel fully comfortable and integrate into a new family. Patience and understanding are of utmost importance.

Persians don’t shed like domestic cats. Persian hair needs to be combed out because they cannot maintain their lovely long hair on their own. To prevent hairballs, and protect against matting, we recommend combing at minimum two or three times a week. These grooming sessions need not take longer than five or ten minutes and will keep the luscious coat looking its best. Nail trimming once a month is easy and a non-issue (No declawing, not ever)! A daily eye wipe with Eye Envy (purchased from Amazon) will keep the fur around the eyes clean and healthy.

VETTING PROVIDED

To ensure ultimate health, Esme had an exam, spayed, tested negative for FELV/FIV, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, completed parasite protocol, and is microchipped.
