GETTING TO KNOW ME

Meet Oskar, a kitten of extraordinary charm. Known for his sweet, friendly nature, Oskar’s story is one of bravery and magic. Once upon a time, he and his littermates lived in a mystical forest, full of curious creatures and enchanting landscapes. One day, while exploring, they discovered a magical portal. Their adventurous spirits led them through, landing them at PurrHarmony. Oskars goofy antics and playful energy quickly filled our space with joy. Oskar’s magical journey has led him to us, but he’s ready for his next big adventure — a forever home. His fun-loving personality and bravery will undoubtedly bring laughter and love to all.

Oskar is a beautiful, purebred Ragdoll kitten who has the most magnificent lynxpoint coat with breathtaking blue eyes. He has a silky coat that will require moderate care. It’s not cottony nor prone to significant matting. At only 7 months old he will not mature completely until approximately 4 years old.

Oskar is playful, curious and ready to take on the world. Once comfortable Oskar will thoroughly enjoy interactive playtime with a wand(he’s a little parkour crazy), ping pong balls and little stuffies. He enjoys slow blinks, petting and endless snuggles.

Oskar thoroughly enjoys the views from atop a tall cat tree placed by a window. It’s always a good time to watch birds, blowing leaves and outdoor action. He’s great with different scratching posts both horizontal and vertical. Trimming his nails are fairly easy. His ideal home must have a young, sweet cat already or adopt one of his littermates or another Purrharmony foster cat. A dog that would ignore him would likely be okay, but all with slow introductions. An adoring, chill,  family where they are home more that away would be great. Kids 13 years or older that are cat respectful would be fine.

He is perfect with his litterboxes, using a large, open-style box with unscented, clumping PetSmart Grass litter. He’s grown wonderfully in the past months eating Honest Kitchen rehydrated food for breakfast and dinner. Fresh, clean water is always available from fountains. Proper litter box husbandry means one litter box per cat, plus an extra.

Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Oskar and other pets in the home. Please do your research on proper introductions. It can often take up to 3 months for a cat to feel fully comfortable and integrate into a new family. Patience and understanding are of utmost importance.

Oskar and his litter have gone through FIP protocol and are cured. Please educate yourself on FIP, and make sure your vet is up to speed on FIP. Feel free to ask any appropriate questions. A good place to educate yourself is https://www.fipglobalcats.com/

ABOUT THE BREED
All Ragdolls have the colorpoint gene, meaning that the body is always lighter in color than the head, legs and tail; three of the four Ragdoll patterns also have the bicolor gene, spicing up the pointed marking with dramatic white accents. They are not only beautiful to look at, but an utter delight to live with.

This is one of the larger breeds of cat, with a broad chest, long, muscular body and sturdy boning to match. Their semi-long coat consists primarily of guard hairs and produces a soft, silky texture that is infinitely touchable. The Ragdoll head is a large, modified wedge with a slightly curving profile, and vivid blue oval-shaped eyes. Ragdolls are slow-maturing, reaching full coat color at two years and full size and weight at four.

VETTING PROVIDED

Exam, neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV & heartworm, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, CBC/Chemistry bloodwork, completed parasite protocol, completed FIP protocol and is microchipped.
