GETTING TO KNOW ME

Jazz paws, jazz paws! Yep, it’s for real! Crystal doesn’t do lil ol biscuits, this girl does jazz paws!  You have to see it to believe it! She is a striking silver and black classic tabby American Shorthair with the most darling grumpy face. But this tiny girl once she knows you is anything but grumpy! Crystal is a roll over, rub my belly, crawl under the covers with you, sleep plastered against you, crawl in your hoodie to snuggle sort of girl.  All those snuggles are nice but don’t think for one minute you aren’t gonna engage in some serious wand toy antics with her. Little miss thing loves, loves, loves wand toy time!!!! When not with her people she enjoys her time buried between pillows or in a cat tree watching life outside the window.

Crystal would be fine with a kind feline companion, a respectful dog or a respectful cat savvy kid over 8 years old. Crystal would be okay as an only cat but her people need to be home most of the time and smother her with attention.

Crystal has a pretty easy coat but as with most short haired cats she will shed, combing should be ongoing and nail trims about every 3-4 weeks. She is currently schedule fed Honest Kitchen dehydrated(wet) cat food for breakfast and dinner. She has great bathroom habits and uses a large, open top litter box with unscented, scoopable litter. The usual litter box husbandry applies, one box per cat plus an extra, and if your home is a multi-level dwelling, a litter box on each level is recommended(who wants to run for a bathroom).

Crystal may start off shy so absolutely start out in a comfy room as base camp with introductions being at a speed acceptable to the other pets in the home and Crystal. Introductions should only go as fast as the slowest pet is comfortable. Slow, patient and steady is a set-up for long-term success.

If you’d like a compatible cat pair, she came into PurrHarmony with two other American Shorthair girls that are also available for adoption.
