GETTING TO KNOW ME
Billie very likely may be the PurrHarmony cat of the year. She has spent nearly 6 months in intensive foster care arriving in early December 2023 as a last attempt to save her life. It was us or euthanize her. Billie was afflicted with GI disease that caused her to be unable to process food. Everything that went in came out very quickly in the form of uncontrolled diarrhea. Billie could not maintain any weight and was less than six pounds and losing weight daily. Today when her weight kissed nine pounds on the scale, it was time for the biggest happy dance. Billie is BACK!
With the help of one of our local vets and numerous visits to the great group of internal medicine veterinary specialists at the renowned UW Madison veterinary clinic, we were able to slowly peel away the layers of maladies and help this girl become whole again. She quickly became a clinic favorite and the entire department wanted in on her case.
Vetting aside, Billie is one of the easiest cats to love. She wants her people in the worst way. Give her a lap, a cat tree, a “tunnel,” some toys and food that works for her and you have the perfect companion. Want a biscuit maker? You’ve got it. Want a lap warmer? Billie’s your girl. Want a kitty who lets you know she misses you? She will call out to you for attention.
Now that her health has been restored, most everything else is easy. Her solid white coat is silky. She LOVES being combed. She will lie down and let you comb one side, then roll to the other side for a repeat performance and end with being on her back so you can even groom her belly! Billie’s right eye leaks a bit of discharge that needs to be wiped most days. She does not care. (Our vets indicate there is nothing to worry about with the discharge.)
She has been through so much (we have 50+ pages of vetting to share with her new family to prove it) and all she wants is a normal life and humans to love.
We strongly recommend maintaining her prescription Biome food unless your vet feels otherwise. (Biome contains a special formula of fiber, pre, and probiotics.) She is happy to use a large open litterbox with unscented clumping litter. We will gladly send her favorite catnip ‘nana and crinkle tunnel along too.
VETTING PROVIDED
Exam, spayed, dental, tested negative for FELV/FIV, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, wormed and is microchipped. Substantial diagnostics provided via veterinary specialists that will outline her previous conditions and all the diagnostics and work that was done.
