GETTING TO KNOW ME

IT’S SO FLUFFY! Hunter has striking black tabby, smoke bi-colored fur that feels like a bunny and you’ll want to snuggle him forever. But Hunter isn’t just good looks he’s sweetness personified once he gets over his initial shyness. Don’t mistake his usual relaxed demeanor as an indication that he doesn’t like to play. Bring on a good play session with a wand toy and you’ll be his buddy for sure! He likes all sorts of toys with and without catnip, horizontal and vertical scratchers and cat trees where he gazes at wildlife. He’s not shy about inserting himself on your lap for a good selfie too as you can see from his picture!

He would be fine with a kind and mellow feline companion, a respectful dog that would ignore him or a respectful cat savvy kid over 8. Hunter would be okay as an only cat but only if his people were home most of the time to give him the companionship he so craves. An active crazy, wild and ruckus house would be a bit much for Hunter as he’s on the chill, introverted, observant and cuddly side.

Hunter has a pretty easy coat but as with most long-haired cats, combing should be ongoing and nail trims about every 3-4 weeks. He should be schedule fed wet food for breakfast and dinner. No free feeding or he will overeat like a college boy at a buffet and loose his trim boyish shape. Hunter currently uses a large, open top litter box with World’s Best unscented, scoopable litter. The usual litter box husbandry applies, one box per cat plus an extra and if your home is a multi-level dwelling, a litter box on each level is recommended (who wants to run for a bathroom).

Hunter may start off shy so a bit of cat savvy Jackson Galaxy attituded with the usual slow introductions to family and other pets apply. Start out in a comfy room as base camp with introductions being at a speed acceptable to the other pets in the home and Hunter. Slow, patient and steady is a set-up for long term success.

If you’d like a compatible cat pair, he has a couple of Scottish Straight roommates he gets along well with available for adoption as well.
