Baxter is a gorgeous hunk of a boy!!!! Just look at that face with his ample neck and swoon!!!! While Baxter may start out a bit reserved, he gets comfortable pretty quick and will claim his space and people. He does not like being separated from his people and will yell and carry on to get your attention with the most delight meows! He’s very playful, loves ping pong balls, wand toys, cat nip kickers, horizontal and vertical cat scratchers and we suspect might even enjoy a cat wheel. Baxter came to us with a dislocated knee and had orthopedic surgery to correct it. The vet has given him the all-clear after 4 weeks of at home therapy.
Baxter will need a cat savvy home. He can be a bit mouthy but gives very clear signals when he’s feeling over-stimulated. He is a smart boy and will thrive with human interactive play and would probably enjoy clicker training and/or haltered leash walks. Baxter needs people that will play with him, not just watch him play but join in the fun. Run through your house with a cat wand toy and you’ll have a playmate in a snap. It would be appropriate for Baxter to be an only cat, have an easy-going cat buddy (that doesn’t mind physical, boy cat style of play), a cat friendly dog and/or a couple of cat savvy respectful teenagers.
Baxter eats Honest Kitchen dehydrated food for breakfast and dinner and loves his stainless-steel water fountain. He has great bathroom habits and uses a large uncovered litter box with unscented World’s Best litter.
He’ll need to be combed/brushed to minimize shedding and keep his glorious hair shiny and healthy. Nails can be trimmed without much of an issue. He’s not big on being picked up and held but likes to sleep pressed up against you while being pet.
