GETTING TO KNOW ME

Siren is stunning blue and white bicolor purebred Ragdoll with striking blue eyes!  She’s an introvert who’s looking for a patient loving family to spend her life with. This girl is insecure but wats so much to be part of a family where she feels safe, and she can continue to bloom.  She’s already come such a long way. Will you be her person?

When Siren joined us, she was so insecure that she’d avoid eye contact and just hunker down. When she’s feeling scared, overstimulated or pushed too far, she’ll hiss and maybe swat. She would be ideal for clicker training or another positive reinforcement bonding exercise that would help her continue to gain self-confidence. She’s looking for a super relaxed, quiet home with an adult or two who’s home more than gone so she can bond. Love, patience and cat experience is a must! A resident super easy-going cat that can be her buddy would be helpful in her journey. She seems interested in dogs that ignore her as well. Being an only cat might be lonely and hard for Siren unless her person or people were home with her all the time and engaging with her. Siren enjoys watching nature out the windows and laying in sun beams.

Siren will eat wet or dry food. When working with a shy cat it is best to schedule feed a food that’s highly desirable so that she knows all yummy things come from her new person and it’s a bonding experience. She has perfect litterbox usage and prefers a large, open top box with an unscented, scoopable litter.

To start out in her new home it’s very, very important that Siren has a catified room that’s all hers (basecamp) where she can take it slow and feel safe (a guest bedroom or office is great). Introductions should be at a speed acceptable to other pets in the home and Siren. Slow, patient and steady is a set-up for success. Jackson Galaxy has some great videos on working with shy cats. Once she trusts you and gains self confidence she will bestow her love on you, and you’ll feel like you won the lottery.
