Krystal Rubi
OHHHHHH!!!!! SOOOOO tiny and fluffy PART TWO!!
We are pleased to present Krystal Rubi, a 10-year-old, petite 4.8lb, Flame Point Himalayan. Rubi is a little powder-puff with the sweetest, slightly crossed, blue eyes. Rubi enjoys a bit of playtime with wands but it’s short lived. Her preference is to loll around on the bed showing her belly. You get exactly 1.84386 strokes of that belly before she grabs your hand and takes a chomp out of it or gives it a good thumping with her back feet. At bedtime any stuffy toy must be put away or be prepared to be awakened at about 2 a.m. She carries them around in her mouth yowling. This little lady likes to sleep at the foot of the bed with her people. You might wake up with a stuffy next to you if you forgot to put one away.
Rubi joined PurrHarmony with another kitty named Julie through our partnership with the CFA Breed Rescue Program. Their nicknames are Beezus and Ramona, the sisters from the Judy Blume books, with Rubi being Beezus. She’s a prim little lady and always looks freshly styled. That might be because she ADORES being brushed and doted on. She sits quite still as you clean her face, brush her fur, clean her ears or she might just bump noses with you. Rubi has a mixed texture coat and sheds a fair amount. She’ll benefit from daily brushing. If you miss a day or two, you may notice a hair tumbleweed on the floor. If she’s had a particularly good neck scratch, she’ll give herself a small mat that you can easily snip or brush out. Rubi drinks well from her fountain, and grazes on dry Royal Canin Persian food throughout the day. She’ll partake in a few nibbles of wet food (Weruva pate) but isn’t particularly food motivated. Rubi stays in a dedicated foster room and can often be found peeping under the door at the resident cats, tapping on paws that might sneak under to “her side”. She met one of the resident male cats and spent the entire time at his heels. She doesn’t pick up quickly on kitty body language and doesn’t know what personal space is for other cats. While not aggressive, she does have a more dominant personality and will do best in a home either by herself or with other submissive, easy-going cats. She’ll take a swipe at other cats and will follow them around until they run away. Rubi and Julie are not bonded but if you’re looking for a pair, they’d be great.
Rubi has her claws and is a perfect lady with her litter box habits. Rubi has low maintenance eyes that require only occasional wiping. Rubi has had a thorough veterinary exam, spay, tested negative for felv/fiv, is fully vaccinated, had stenotic nares surgery and a dental.
Rubi is ready to be the princess of her new home. Families with cat respectful dogs, an easy-going cat or two, and cat savvy kiddos will be considered. Appropriate adjustment time is always encouraged and slow introductions with other pets is always a best practice.
