British Shorthair
Margo
MIDGE, MARGO & RUTHIE are precious purebred, British Shorthair kittens with huge, round, expressive copper eyes and the most irresistable plush coats ever. They joined us through our relationship with the Cat Fanciers Association, Breed Assistance and Breed Rescue Program. They were born on 3/2/22.
British Shorthair cats are known for their muscular, cobby structure and their short, thick coats, round head and cheeks, big round eyes and rounded everything. They resemble cuddly teddy bears. They are a medium to large-sized heavily muscled cat with thick, strong legs. They were originally bred to help keep rodents out of the barn and house. A daily brushing is important, especially during seasonal changes when the coat is thickening or thinning. Even this shorthair cat can get knots in her coat if she isn’t brushed regularly.
The British Shorthair will put up with cuddles for a brief moment, but they would rather not be picked up and held. Their idea of affection is sitting next to you on the sofa. They make great, quiet companions that don’t require hourly attention.
MARGO has a Bluecream plush coat, loves to be pet, and is the largest of the three Brit kittens. She is loving and affectionate and has a beautiful, gentle temperament. All three British kittens are reserved with new people, but warm up pretty quickly with their loud, rumbling purrs.
Margo is spayed and has her claws. She has had a veterinary wellness visit, tested negative for FELV/FIV, is wormed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She has perfect bathroom habits and uses an open litter box with unscented clumping litter. Margo has a hearty appetite and is currently eating Honest Kitchen Dehydrated Chicken Cat Food.
Margo’s ideal family would be one that is not too hectic or crazy and enjoys the companionship of a gentle cat. The British Shorthair cat is NOT an in-your-face kind of cat, but a wonderful, loyal companion. PurrHarmony requires kittens to be adopted in pairs or go to homes with another young, compatible cat. The British kittens have been raised with the Rex kittens and they all get along fabulously, so mixing and matching of the two breeds is a wonderful opportunity. They all enjoy vertical height in their foster home. Respectful, gentle kids 10 years and over would be okay. The British kittens are cautious around dogs, but may be fine with a low energy dog that will ignore them and with proper introductions.
Fostered in Green Bay, WI. Adoption fee: $400.00.
